Get your Business Selling Online with the Trading Online Voucher Grant

The department of Communications, Energy and Natural Resources (DCENR) are rolling out a Trading Online Voucher Programme to get businesses across Ireland online  in association with the Local Enterprise Offices.

This initiative is in response to the fact that only 23% of small Irish businesses use an online presence to generate sales. Figures suggest that even though the online market is on target to grow to €21 billion by 2017, an astonishing 75% of online sales generated in Ireland occur on websites outside of Ireland.

In an effort to grow the Irish economy while growing online sales in Ireland, the Trading Online Voucher scheme has been launched which will assist small business who wish to develop their online presence.

To qualify for the Online Voucher Grant, businesses must seek funding prior to developing or upgrading their online presence, preferably having less than 10 employees and a turnover of not more than €2m. Business must be situated in a pilot scheme location as well as being registered and trading for a 12 month period.

The Online Trading Voucher which is worth €2,500 can be used for a number of services including, developing or re-developing an e-commerce website, purchase of online advertising, development and implementation of a digital marketing strategy and the implementation of online booking or payments system.
